If you’re anything like me, you have done something silly on the golf course and thus ended up not feeling great the next day. Maybe you did something as “simple” as walking the entire course while carrying your own bag of clubs – for the first time in years – only to forget how much walking plus carrying that extra weight plus straining up and down hills and around water hazards that encompassed. Or maybe you’re the one that had the shortest tee shot thus deciding you need to amp up your swing thereby twisting your low back and ending the day with a tweak that will have you crying in pain by that evening. Your first thought is to wish you could go back and redo that swing, the right way. The way your golf pro wouldn’t be shaking their head at you.
Well, this post is for you. Unfortunately, you can’t take a mulligan when you’ve hurt yourself. But you can move forward. You can build up strength and structure to help you keep yourself uninjured in the future.
One of my favorite things to do in my practice is work with golfers. Whether you want a full Golf Fitness Program tailor made for you or you just want to come in for regular adjustments to keep you moving and feeling well, we can accommodate you. So, how can I help?
Simple – well the answer is simple anyway. Golf is a game of skill that requires the most of your body and mind. If your feet aren’t connecting with the ground well so that when you hit the ball you’re losing your balance, that is a problem. If your hips aren’t rotating enough to invoke the power necessary to generate enough core power to hit the ball, that is also a problem. If your back hurts because of previous injury – or an excited child wanting piggy-back rides – you’re going to compensate in your swing, that is a problem. How about your shoulders and neck? If those are stiff, your back swing is going to suffer and then you’ll need to compensate, again, for that lack of movement with some other part of your body, that will be a problem. So, as part of chiropractic care and your golf game, it’s important to keep yourself in top shape. We can work with you to help the various aspects of your body’s issues to give you the best chance on the course.
The actual game skill is up to you!
