Once you have an appointment booked, your time here with Dr. Norton will be spent having a thorough discussion of your health, your goals, an examination, and (barring need for further testing) she will get to work on your concerns that first day. We want to ensure that we understand you so please have your paperwork filled out prior to your arrival.
This paperwork will ask for your family history because some issues in your body can be hereditary (but that does not mean that we cannot fix them). It will also ask you questions about your health habits and your medical history. Be sure to tell her all about the pain you are experiencing and any other symptoms you may be having. We want to cover all bases so that we are able to help you as much as possible.Depending on your injury, we may or may not require X-rays, advanced imaging, or blood work. If any of those tests are needed, a referral will be given to you to ensure a timely appointment.
After your examination, which will require you to move around and possibly even lay down so that we can get a better feel for what is going on, Dr. Norton will discuss your condition with you and what your options for care are going forward. Together, you can decide what you feel comfortable doing and come up with a game plan to help you.
If you have any questions regarding your first visit or any future visits that we will have the pleasure of seeing you at, contact us today at (612) 408-9535.
